Congregational Coaching Sessions

Congregational Coaching Sessions

Sunday, April 6

Join us as we work toward the future.

Rev. Laura Stephens-Reed will lead our congregation in two coaching sessions on Sunday, April 6, in the RA. Please attend both sessions as they cover different topics, and the second one builds on the first. Both sessions are open to children and youth, not just adults.

Schedule:

9:45 a.m. – coffee and donuts available

10 a.m. – Session 1

There will be a combined children’s Sunday School class for any child who does not want to participate.

11 a.m. – Worship

12 p.m. – Session 2

Lunch will be provided. Families will eat together after church at the beginning of the second session, and children who do not want to stay will be supervised either outside or in the children’s library, depending on the weather.

Because we are providing food, please let us know how many people in your family plan to attend by filling out the form linked below.

Can’t make it in person, but still want to participate? We will have a virtual option! More details and a link coming soon.

From Laura Stephens-Reed

I very much look forward to being at Faith Baptist Church on April 6. Our conversations that day will be geared toward helping everyone have

1) the same information about the events of the past year regarding staffing conversations,

2) the chance to share their feelings about how these events unfolded, and

3) an opportunity to hear others’ perspectives.

Additionally, we’ll talk about whether you as a congregation would like to make changes going forward related to how you handle important conversations, processes, or decisions, and if so, what those adjustments might look like. Your participation will be essential in building shared understanding and excitement about FBC’s future, which will in turn provide a solid foundation for your pastor search.

Here is what you can expect from our two sessions, which are open to congregants of all ages:

Session 1 — Information about the shape of this alignment process with the chance to ask questions, covenanting around how we want to show up in these two April 6 sessions, and presentation of a timeline of events over the past year that will provide the starting point for session 2 discussions

Session 2 — Structured small group conversations to share feelings and perspectives about the timeline, reporting out from the small groups to the large group, and discussion around behaviors and/or attitudes church members want to incorporate in important conversations/processes/decisions going forward

I invite you to attend in person if you will be in town and to join us virtually if you will be traveling. I will see you soon!
